Council bid for Belmont Station successful

Lib Dem-run Sutton Council was successful in its bid for funding to upgrade rail services to Belmont Station and unlock the full potential of the London Cancer Hub.
The funding will allow train services to double from two to four trains per hour, and provide step-free access at the station.
The win is a welcome boost for Belmont residents and businesses, as the Lib Dem Council continues to call for better public transport across the borough.
The improvements are a step in the right direction for Sutton residents, who for decades have received the least transport investment per person in London.
