20mph zone in traffic cut-through area

After extensive consultation with residents, Lib Dem Councillors have welcomed the new 20mph zone covering roads north of Cheam Road and East of Gander Green Lane.
The 20mph zone will reduce traffic speed in the rush hour cut-through area, reducing road danger, traffic noise, emissions, and the risk and severity of accidents.
Parents told Councillors of their concerns, in particular taking children to the schools in the area.
Funding has now been secured from Transport for London to implement the scheme.
