West Cornwall Hopsital 24/7 Urgent Treatment Centre Petition

Andrew George, campaigning to reopen and upgrade our Urgent Treatment Centre

West Cornwall residents have for nearly 12 months been unable to access treatment after 9pm at West Cornwall Hospital. This means that people who need urgent healthcare have to travel between 25 (Penzance) and 35 (St Just) miles by ambulance, public transport or costly taxi, or be taken by a family member, neighbour or friend; or their treatment may be delayed.

This is significantly at odds with the objectives promoted by NHS England, expressed as "Right Treatment, Right Time, Right Place". Patients, their carers, and their families are entitled to expect the local NHS to provide care as close to home as possible.

Reopen UTC at night at West Cornwall Hospital!

We, the under-signed, demand that our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at West Cornwall Hospital, closed at night for almost a year, be fully re-instated as a 24/7 service, complete with safe staffing, compliant medical and diagnostic backup and reliable ambulance cover.
