Natalie Warren-Green elected councillor for Longstanton
We are delighted to welcome Natalie Warren-Green as the newly elected Lib Dem councillor for Longstanton, Northstowe, Oakington and Westwick.
We are very pleased that voters continue to put their trust in our party locally, as shown by Natalie gaining most votes and, as promised, she will work hard to build on the legacy of the former councillors.
As a party we have been listening hard to residents during the campaign and will reflect on the incredibly close result in the second seat that resulted in Lawrence Zeegen narrowly missing out on being elected. Commiserations to him on finishing in third place.
Clearly we have been sent a strong message.
Parliamentary campaigner, Pippa Heylings said: “We will listen and reflect on what we have heard on the doorsteps and what voters are telling us with this result.
“Residents can also once again see proof that elections in South Cambridgeshire are between the Lib Dems and the Conservatives. A vote for Labour here just risks letting the Conservatives in.“
Natalie will now take up the mantle of representing the ward for the Lib Dems alongside county colleague Firouz Thompson. Speaking after the result, Natalie said: “I feel privileged to have been elected to represent the ward and to play a part in getting things right for the communities of Longstanton, Northstowe, Oakington and Westwick.“
