Newly elected Cllr Eileen Wilson with Cllrs Annika Osborne and Neil Gough and leaders of campaign

This was a much deserved by-election win in Cottenham. Congratulations to fellow Liberal Democrat, Eileen Wilson, and commiserations to all those who stood for election. The results show the huge respect that the community has for Eileen and this is very much a result of her hard work previously as a former District Councillor. It is so good to see her representing Cottenham and Rampton once again at the District Council together with Cllr Annika Osborne; and also with County Councillor Neil Gough. This result also honours the memory and legacy of much-loved John Loveluck who sadly passed away only months after being elected last May. John loved being a District Councillor and was particularly passionate about conserving nature and green spaces in and around Cottenham.

We are all reflecting on the many conversations we had on the doorsteps during the last few months. There is definitely no sense of entitlement among us Lib Dems and we are listening very hard to the issues being raised by local residents.

Here’s the result:

Fisher, Oliver (Green) 107
Hingston, Thomas Mark (Labour) 373
Morris, Francis Joseph (Conservative) 678
Pilsworth, Joanne Katherine (Independent) 52
Wilson, Eileen Margaret (Liberal Democrat) 864
