Ian Sollom MP is looking for a Communications Assistant to help in his St Neots office

Key Tasks

  • Establish, monitor, and update Ian’s social media and online presence in the constituency.
  • Produce online graphics and video content.
  • Manage and monitor social media enquiries, dealing with cases that do not need to be transferred to a higher level. Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner. 
  • Monitor media coverage, liaise with media, prepare press releases as required (on constituency, non-party-political matters). 
  • Help co-ordinate Communication tasks including but not limited to: Email newsletters, Village/Town journal contributions

Essential skills and experience for this part of the role: 

  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English 
  • A highly organised approach 
  • A love of talking to people 
  • A creative eye for good photos and graphics 
  • Comfortable using social media 
  • A self-starter who understands the importance of working collaboratively with colleagues 
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrat

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
