David Watson

Candidate for Peckham

General Election - 4 July 2024

David Watson

David lives in Peckham and was elected as a Southwark Liberal Democrat Councillor in 2022. He is a strong campaigner who cares passionately about local communities. David is the Chief Whip for the Liberal Democrat Opposition Group on Southwark Council.

As a local councillor, David has secured housing for vulnerable people, championed local communities against big business developers and secured funding for local parks and neighbourhood projects.

David’s Peckham priorities are to:

1. Fix the NHS – Liberal Democrats will introduce a right to see a GP within a week, and within 24 hours for those in urgent need.

2. Fight for more affordable homes and stand up for residents and communities with big developers.

3. Make the Walworth Road the vibrant artery between Elephant and Castle and Burgess Park that our neighbourhood deserves.

David has over 20 years experience working in communications, policy development and advocacy. He is currently communications director of an international affairs think tank and has worked previously in the public and charitable sectors on environment, foreign policy and human rights issues.
