Carol Weaver

Candidate for Leicester South

General Election - 4 July 2024

Carol Weaver

Dr Carol Weaver is a specialist on European Security and a pro-EU campaigner, which is why she joined the internationalist Liberal Democrats with their support for human rights and the rule of law. She knows Leicester South well, having taught at both universities and wants to help the local community by working with the people.

As well as family, Carol cares deeply about the NHS, mental health, ending poverty, education and special needs, climate change and the environment. She believes that the country has been neglected by the Conservatives, whilst Leicester has been taken for granted by Labour. Other parties, especially the Liberal Democrats, need more involvement in holding governments and councils to account.

Liberal Democrats stand for a fair, inclusive and sustainable Britain and Carol believes that safe, friendly and clean communities with good well-paid job opportunities, better rights and well-planned housing will help us all to thrive. So much more could be done for this diverse city of Leicester and its prosperity by a hard-working MP who is not focussed on Westminster most of the time.
