Statement from Trafford Liberal Democrats following the comments of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Co-Owner of Manchester United.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is the co-owner of a club whose supporters, and many of its players, are drawn from across vibrant immigrant communities both home and abroad. 

Trafford and the wider Greater Manchester region have a proud history of welcoming hardworking people from across the world to our city whose contributions should not be denigrated by a man who has himself decided to emigrate to Monaco for tax purposes. 

These comments are not befitting of Manchester United, nor are they welcome in Trafford. Sir Jim should resign.
