Charlotte Cane MP Hosts Community Meeting in Cottenham
Charlotte Cane, Liberal Democrat MP for Ely and East Cambridgeshire, hosted a well-attended community meeting in Cottenham on Wednesday 24 September. The event gave local residents the chance to raise concerns directly with their MP and hear updates on her work in Parliament.
Chaired by local County Councillor Yasmin Deter, the meeting featured a lively Q&A session covering a wide range of topics, including the conflict in Gaza, palliative care, safety improvements on the A10, speed-reduction measures, electric vehicle charging points, local health provision, and digital ID.
Speaking after the event, Charlotte said:
“I’m so grateful to everyone who joined me in Cottenham. These meetings are a vital way for me to stay connected to the concerns of local people. The questions raised at the meeting directly inform my work both in Parliament and here in Ely and East Cambridgeshire. I’ll always do my best to listen and to stand up for our communities.”
Since being elected in July 2024, Charlotte Cane MP has helped resolve more than 7,700 cases brought to her by constituents seeking advice, support or information. Residents across Ely and East Cambridgeshire are encouraged to get in touch if they need help or wish to raise an issue.
